Virtual Job Fair

  1. HOW DOES IT WORK?

    This event is just like an in-person job fair, but online! Each participating company will host a presentation and will take questions from the attendees. Use this time to ask hiring managers and recruiters questions about their open roles, their culture, and what it’s like working for their organization.

  2. IS THIS A HIRING EVENT? HOW DO I APPLY TO ROLES AND SEND MY RESUME?

    Yes it is! Each company has a page on PowerToFly where you can read more about their organization and see their open roles. Before the fair, make sure your PowerToFly profile is up-to-date so you can utilize the one-click "I’m Interested" feature and let companies know you’re interested!

  3. WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?

    PowerToFly’s mission is to lift the world through placing and keeping underrepresented people in high-visibility careers. All community members are welcome to attend PowerToFly events regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, or age. If you require accommodation to fully participate in one of our events, please respond to your invitation with a specific request.

    Unfortunately, PowerToFly cannot admit outside recruiters.

  4. HOW DO I JOIN AND NAVIGATE THE EVENT?

    When the event starts, you will see "Join Now" button on this landing page for the Virtual Job Fair. From there you will be directed to a page where you can learn about each company and join the session. Clicking "Join Session" will open a new tab with the Zoom room. Stick around for the breakout session within Zoom, and follow instructions from moderator to join breakout sessions.

  5. DO YOU HAVE TO STAY FOR THE WHOLE EVENT?

    You don’t have to stay for the whole event. make sure to choose the companies you would like to hear from and join during the time they will be online. You can find their designated time for the Virtual Job Fair on this page if you click the company’s logo.

  6. SHOULD I BE ON CAMERA? IS THIS EVENT RECORDED?


    While being on camera is not mandatory, we recommend keeping it on. You will also have access to the chat box to ask questions and "raise your hand" feature to ask questions off mute.
    The event is recorded, but we will share only the companies’ presentations after the event to everyone who had registered.

  7. CAN I ATTEND VIA SMARTPHONE?

    Yes, you should be able to log in via smartphone. You can dial into the Zoom conference room just by phone or you can download the Zoom app which would enable you to see the presentations from the various companies (& share your own camera if you’d like). You’ll also be able to log in, then sign out & come back later, or visit various Zoom rooms to see/talk to different companies as you wish.


  8. SHOULD I DRESS FOR THE EVENT?

    No need to dress for the occasion at all, in fact, a lot of our PowerToFly hosts & company presenters will be dressed casually as they work from home. We encourage participation from our attendees and you’ll be free to turn on your camera for some face-time with the company. But you’re also welcome to keep your camera turned off & even post your questions in the text chat if you’d prefer.

  9. HOW CAN I CONNECT WITH THE SPEAKERS AFTER THE EVENT?

    We add FAQ document for each company that is available only during the Virtual Job Fair. Navigate to the landing page, click company’s logo and find "FAQ".

  10. HOW DO I SEND MY RESUME?

    Upload your resume to your PowerToFly profile and apply for a suitable role through PowerToFly. Your resume/CV will be visible for the hiring manager.
